African Eyeball Technology Ltd is a Ghanaian registered company and the data controller for personal data described in this policy. We operate as a software and design studio and publish the EduPuzzle learning app, the SmoothScan document scanner app, and the HD+ Video Downloader app under the same legal entity.

2. Information we collect (website)

Depending on how you interact with us through the site, we may process:

• Contact details you send via forms or email (for example name, email address, phone number, organisation, and the content of your message).
• Project context you choose to share when requesting a quote or briefing us (files, links, specifications).
• Technical data typical of web browsing, such as IP address, browser type, and approximate region—often collected by hosting or analytics tools when enabled.

3. How we use information (website)

We use this information to respond to enquiries, prepare proposals, deliver contracted work, invoice where applicable, and improve how our site and services function. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Our site may use cookies or local storage where needed for basic functionality, preferences, or analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Third-party tools (for example embedded video or booking links) may set their own cookies under their policies.

Where we show ads, advertising partners (including Google) may use cookies, advertising identifiers, or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads. See Advertising (Google AdSense) below for how Google may use data in that context.

5. Advertising (Google AdSense) — website

We use Google AdSense, a programme operated by Google LLC, to display advertisements on this website. Google may use cookies and other data to show you relevant ads, cap how often you see an ad, and measure effectiveness. Those ads may be personalised based on your activity on this site and elsewhere.

You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services in Google’s partner sites policy and in Google’s Privacy Policy. Where available, you can manage or opt out of personalised advertising from Google through Google Ads Settings.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland may see additional consent or preference controls where required by applicable law.

6. Sharing and processors (website)

We may share limited data with trusted service providers who help us operate the business (for example email delivery, form handling, hosting, or calendar scheduling). Those providers are expected to process data only for the purpose we specify and in line with appropriate safeguards.

7. Retention

We keep enquiry and project records for as long as needed to deliver services, meet legal or accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it where practicable.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No online transmission is completely secure; please avoid sending sensitive credentials or unnecessary personal data unless we ask for them through an agreed channel.

9. Your choices

Where applicable, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions. Contact us using the email above and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

10. International transfers

If we use tools hosted outside Ghana, data may be processed in other countries. We aim to work with providers that offer appropriate protections consistent with their role.

11. Children

This site is aimed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children without appropriate consent.

12. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site or app after changes means you accept the revised notice where the law allows.

13. EduPuzzle mobile application

This section applies in addition to the rest of this policy when you use the EduPuzzle mobile app published by African Eyeball Technology Ltd. The same company registration and TIN in section 1 apply.

13.1 Information we collect in the app

You may provide: account details (email, name, password stored securely), profile information (including photo, level, preferences), quiz and learning data (scores, progress, flashcards, bookmarks, notes), tutoring-related data if you use those features, and content you submit (e.g. essays, drawings). Payments: on Android, digital goods (subscriptions, coins, etc.) are processed by Google Play; we may use Paystack for certain other flows where offered; Apple may process purchases on iOS where applicable. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Automatically: device and usage data, Firebase Analytics, crash reporting (e.g. Crashlytics), and approximate location if you grant permission.

13.2 How we use app data

We use it to run and improve EduPuzzle, personalise learning, send notifications you allow, provide support, process purchases through the relevant store or partner, protect security, meet legal obligations, and analyse usage.

13.3 Third parties in the app

We use Google Firebase (e.g. Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Storage, Cloud Functions as configured). Firebase is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy.

In-app ads may be shown through Google AdMob; see AdMob & privacy and Google’s Privacy Policy. You can limit ad personalisation in your device settings.

Google Play Billing on Android handles payment instruments for digital items; we receive information needed to fulfil purchases (e.g. entitlement status, transaction references), not your full card number.

Where Paystack is used, it processes payment data under Paystack’s Privacy Policy.

13.4 Children’s privacy (app)

EduPuzzle is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

13.5 Your rights (app)

You may request access, correction, deletion, or portability where applicable, and you may delete your account in app settings where available. Contact info@africaneyeballtech.com.

13.6 International transfers (app)

Data may be processed on infrastructure outside Ghana (e.g. Google cloud regions). By using the app you acknowledge such processing as described here and in providers’ policies.

14. SmoothScan mobile application

This section applies in addition to the rest of this policy when you use the SmoothScan mobile app published by African Eyeball Technology Ltd. The same company registration and TIN in section 1 apply.

14.1 Information the app accesses

Depending on how you use SmoothScan, the app may access:

• Camera — to capture photos of documents for scanning.
• Photo library — to import images from your gallery and, when you choose, save exported images to your gallery.
• Files on your device — to create, store, and export PDF, Word (.doc), and plain text files from your scans.

SmoothScan does not require an account. We do not collect your document content on our servers.

14.2 How we use app data

• Scanned pages and saved documents are stored locally on your phone or tablet.
• Export, print, and share actions use your device’s built-in tools (share sheet, print dialog, email, messaging apps, cloud drives, and similar services you select).
• When you share a file, it is sent only to the app or service you choose. African Eyeball Technology Ltd does not receive that data.

14.3 Third parties in the app

If you share or open files with other apps (for example WhatsApp, Facebook, Gmail, Google Drive, or iCloud), those services are governed by their own privacy policies. SmoothScan does not control how those services handle your data.

We do not sell your personal information or use your document content for advertising.

14.4 Children’s privacy (app)

SmoothScan is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

14.5 Your rights (app)

Documents remain on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall SmoothScan. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored scan data from your device. You may contact us with privacy questions at info@africaneyeballtech.com.

14.6 International transfers (app)

Your scans stay on your device. If you choose to share files to a cloud or messaging service outside Ghana, that transfer is under your control and the third party’s policies.

15. HD+ Video Downloader application

This section applies in addition to the rest of this policy when you use the HD+ Video Downloader mobile and desktop app published by African Eyeball Technology Ltd. The same company registration and TIN in section 1 apply.

15.1 Information the app accesses

Depending on how you use HD+ Video Downloader, the app may access or store locally:

• Video links you paste or share — used to fetch metadata and start downloads.
• Download history on your device (titles, URLs, progress, file paths).
• App settings on your device (quality preference, theme, Wi‑Fi only, optional backend URL, library PIN).
• Downloaded video and audio files saved to your device storage or gallery when you choose.

HD+ Video Downloader does not require an account. We do not sell your personal data.

15.2 How we use app data

• Process URLs and complete downloads you request.
• Show download progress, notifications, and library entries.
• Optionally blur common watermark areas when you choose “Download without watermark”.
• Display advertisements through Google AdMob on supported mobile platforms (Android and iOS).
• Check network type when you enable Wi‑Fi only downloads.

15.3 Optional self-hosted backend

If you enable a custom yt-dlp backend in Settings, video URLs you submit are sent to your configured server only. African Eyeball Technology Ltd does not receive that traffic. Any API key you set is stored locally on your device and sent to your server as a request header.

15.4 Third parties in the app

The app may contact third-party extraction services (for example YouTube libraries, yt-dlp, platform CDNs, or public APIs) to resolve download links for URLs you provide. We do not control those services’ privacy practices.

On Android and iOS we use Google AdMob to show ads. Google may use cookies, advertising identifiers, or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy, AdMob & privacy, and your device ad settings to manage personalisation.

15.5 Permissions

• Internet — download videos, fetch metadata, show ads.
• Storage / Photos — save files; optional gallery export.
• Notifications — download status alerts.
• Network state — optional Wi‑Fi only mode.
• Biometrics — only if you enable library lock.
• Clipboard — only if you enable clipboard link detection.

15.6 Children’s privacy (app)

HD+ Video Downloader is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact info@africaneyeballtech.com and we will take appropriate steps.

15.7 Your rights (app)

Downloads and settings remain on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall HD+ Video Downloader. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored download data from your device. You may contact us with privacy questions at info@africaneyeballtech.com.

15.8 International transfers (app)

Your downloads stay on your device unless you use a backend you configure or share files to another service. Third-party extractors or ad partners may process data outside Ghana under their own policies.
